$17,500 paid for Simmental
A Simmental breeder of Timaru, Mr Rodney Cox, bought the top-priced bull at the national sale of Simmentals in Palmerston North this week. ’ Mr Cox, of Levels, paid $17,500 for the bull bred by Mr Peter McWilliam,
of Masterton. The Simmental sale averaged $4721 for 22 bulls. Other leading prices included $BOOO for a bull sold by G. T. Pearce, Putaruru, and $7OOO for an animal sold by J. Abso-
lom, Hawke’s Bay. ■j South Island breeders included Colin Patterson, Lakeside, one bull at $5OOO, Andrew Ritchies, Blenheim, one at $6200, and Martin Brothers, Nelson, one at $3200.
