Rocklea Cup victor
The former New Zealand pacer, Nero’s Jay, won Queensland’s richest provincial harness racing feature, the sAust6B,ooo Rocklea Cup last Saturday. The former Auckland Cup winner, Comedy Lad, which started from 25 metres behind in the 2230 m event, suffered interference with a lap to run and finished unplaced. Clever Dillon resting Clever Dillon, which wilted to finish sixth in his debut for Robert Cameron at the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting last Friday, returned to the Edendale property of his part-owner, “Bud” Baynes, for a winter spell the next day. “It looks like he has had enough for now,” said Cameron.
