TVNZ given contract
Television New Zealand has been preferred by the New Zealand Racing Conference over TV3 for contract of live coverage of racing in the 1989-90 season. TVNZ won out largely because of the uncertainty of the actual starting time of the new channel and also because initially it would reach just over 70 per cent of the population. Both channels will be invited to put proposals forward for the 1990-91 season. It is understood TV3 offered an especially attractive package to the Conference for the 1989-90 season.
