Braithwaite leads
The two time Golden Boot winner, Keith Braithwaite, leads the field after seven rounds of the Air New Zealand soccer league. Braithwaite, playing as a striker this season for Christchurch United, instead of his usual midfield role, has seven goals, including one penalty. He has scored in six matches, getting two goals in the first round against Waterside.
Braithwaite won the Golden Boot last year with 19 goals and .the year before with 20. Since the start of a 12 team competition in 1977, no
player has won three successive scoring awards.
The former All White. Colin Walker, has three titles to his name, however, in 1980, 1984 and 1985. The Mount Wellington duo. Noel Barkley and Dave Witteveen, have six goals each with Barklej' including two penalties in his total.
Other leading scorers are.— 4: Jim Clark (Waterside), Tony Laus (Waitakere); 3: .Gary Faulds (Hutt), Gary Parker (Napier), Steve Sumner (Christchurch), Andy Wafer (North Shore); Mark Weddle (Manurewa).
