Chch takes top places in nationals
Chrisfchurch teams took first and second places at the St John national youth first aid competition in Masterton at the week-end. Nelson-Marl borough was third. The northern South Island region had a tradition of dominating such national comeptitions for the last four years, a spokeswoman for St John in Christchurch said. Fourteen teams took part in the three-day event. <. Christchurch was well represented in placings for the individual events, with cadets Matthew Best, 15, and John l6, taking second and third places respectively. John also won the Lady Mountbatten trophy for combined best scores in drill, inspection and transport.
