The loading of 65,000 live sheep for Saudi Arabia began smoothly at the Port of Timaru yesterday and the ship’s agents hope the Mukairish Alsades will leave port this afternoon. Mr Noel Stray, spokesman for the agent, D. C. Turnbull, said that 32,484 sheep were loaded yesterday.
He is confident that the loading will be completed by early afternoon and that the ship will sail soon after.
The 28,227-ton vessel will pick up a similar number of sheep from Adelaide before heading for Saudi Arabia
