Japanese too fast
PA- Paeroa The All Japan Schools team was too fast and too fit for Thames Valley Secondary Schools at Ngatea yesterday and won the fourth game of Its New Zealand tour, 18-7. In a game played in hot, dry conditions, the Japanese started at pace and maintained the effort for the whole 80 minutes. They had the advantage of the wind in the first half and led 12-3 at the interval, but might have had more points on the board had their midfield backs moved the ball wider. Scorers: All Japan Schools 18 (T. Akabane, Y. Motoki, tries; T. Sasahara, 2 penalties, 2 conversions) beat Thames Valley Secondary Schools 7 (G. McLiver, try; S. Halden, penalty) 7.
