Fencing titles
Richard Bowles, unbeaten in the men’s,section, and Clare Abaffy, with aggressive and accurate hitting, won the main titles at the Canterbury under 20 fencing championships at Avonside Girls’ High School at the week-end. Bowles, who has made steady progress in the last two years, proved very consistent and his timing was excellent. Good entries were received, the strength of junior fencing shown by the number of contestants and their accompanying skills. Results:—
