Iro allowed to stay
PA Auckland The Kiwi rugby league centre, Kevin Iro, will be allowed to remain in England to prepare for the British Challenge Cup final on April 29. The New Zealand Rugby League executive director, Michael Knowles, said last evening the decision to enable Iro to stay in Britain was taken “on humanitarian grounds.” “We have agreed that he will not play but will stay there and prepare himself for the cup final at Wembley.” The decision will please the Wigan and former Kiwis coach, Graham Lowe, who was optimistic of having Iro for the final.
