Electrical Engineering Industry • Christchurch Based • Growth Company We have been asked to assist in the appointment of a General Manager for this Christchurch based manufacturer of electrical switchgear and switchboards. The Company has a wide client base and has completed both small and large projects for all manner of industrial and commercial applications throughout New Zealand and overseas. The Company is involved in the design, engineering, manufacturing and merchandising of its products from its Christchurch Head Office base and manufacturing branch in Auckland. The appointee will be directly responsible to the Board for the general management and in particular, the technical management of the Company. There will be overall responsibility for electrical design and manufacture, and for the motivation, leadership and training of personnel. The position will also necessitate a high level of client liaison at both managerial and technical levels. We are therefore seeking an aggressive and presentable executive who will be tertiary qualified in the electrical engineering field. The appointee will also have excellent interpersonal skills and assist the Board in the strategic planning for the company’s future. Whilst age range is flexible, it is likely the successful candidate will be in the 30 to 40 age bracket and be able to point to sound, commercial management experience in recent years.
