Cordwell holds place
PA Washington Belinda Cordwell retains her forty-first place in the latest Women’s International Tennis Association rankings out yesterday. In the doubles she moves up a place from 51 to 50. Cordwell is the seventh highest money earner on the women’s professional circuit this year, having won $U545,921 (5NZ75.280). Steffi Graf leads with SUS2OO,OOO ($NZ327,868). After 11 events on the 1989 Virginia Slims series, Cordwell is lying fifth with 494 points behind Steffi Graf (1195), Zina Garrison (890), Martina Navratilova (865) and Helena Sukova (795).
