Traffic officers to end action tonight
Industrial action by traffic officer in Christchurch will end at midnight tonight, according to ihe district superintendent "of the Ministry of Transport. Superintendent Ray Hall said talks on officers’ wages were due to resume in Wellington. Traffic officers have been issuing traffic prose-,
r cution notices in Christchurch instead of instant fines. The District Court > has refused to process the prosecutions. The national general secretary of the Public ' Service Association, Mr ’ Colin Clark, said informal i discussions with the Ministry had shown there t might be a change in its position.
