Bowls team
Working on the principle of never changing a winning combination, the Canterbury bowls selectors have made no changes to the province’s team to contest the Rothmans national finals on March 4 and 5, at the Papanui Club. The team, chosen by the selectors, Messrs F. Mugford (convener), T. Coup and K. Perry, is: Bruce McNish (Spreydon), singles, Gary Lawson (Sydenham) and Bob Patterson (Southbridge), pairs, and Lyn Hanger (Burnside), Graham Stanley (South Brighton), Ken Watson (Lin-
wood) and Bill Fiecken (Beckenham), fours. The selectors have also named four triples teams to take part in the annual quadrangular tournament, with Wellington, Marlborough and Nelson, in Blenheim, on March 11-12. The teams are: Stewart Buttar (Burnside), Watson and Fiecken: Colin Lowery (Southbridge), Lawson and Patterson: Neville Poole (Sumner), Leon Jones (Papanui) and McNish: Hanger, Brian Barker (Papanui) and Ray |lunt (Spreydon).
