Christianity gains
Christianity in China has gained ground in recent years with support from intellectuals and young people "disappointed by the reality” in their country, an official Chinese newspaper said. A survey by the “News Digest” said people turned to Christianity after “serious social problems” dr “because they were disappointed by the reality” in their country. The paper quoted one person as saying he was “profoundly worried by the style of the (Communist) Party and the existing social morality.”—Peking.
