Skateboard hazard
Sir,—This week I was simply horrified to see a skateboard being ridden on the footpath on Colombo Street, near Cashel Street. A busy place. Having had
a few very near collisions with skateboards on suburban streets, I want to voice a very strong plea for them to be barred from all footpaths. They are as dangerous as bicycles being ridden on footpaths, and do not have the merit of being even useful. Skateboarding is just another form of recreation, and is all right in proper places, such as parks, etc., but definitely not on public footpaths.—Yours, etc,. M. HARRISON. January 25, 1989.
