Leeds swaps codes
PA Sydney Fullback Andrew Leeds is the latest Australian rugby union international to swap to Sydney rugby league, signing a three-year contract with Parramatta. Leeds, aged 24, made his test debut for the Wallabies in the deciding Bledisloe Cup match against the All Blacks in Auckland in 1986, scoring a try in Australia’s victory. He went on to play in 13 more tests and toured Argentina, the British Isles and Italy with the Wallabies. Leeds is the seventh Wallaby to have switched to the professional code since the Wallabies’ tour of Argentina, in 1987 and follows the recent departure of James Grant and Michael Cook to Sydney league clubs.
