Sir, —Your editorial on superannuation shows up the fraud of the national scheme. It has done irreparable harm to New Zealand but, in trying to stop the rot, Dr Cullen’s proposals do not include the solution of euthanasia. Given the option, many of us would opt out of being a burden and the pains of old age which are intensified by high taxation, seeing the decline of our nation, while being preached at by the authors of our demoralisation. — Yours, etc., M.
