A police car with new identification patterns designed to be more eye-catching than those in use now. It is being shown to pupils of Marist Holy Cross Primary School, Wellington, by the “Crimewatch” presenter and Miramar Community Constable, Bill Humphries. The design will be introduced next year as new patrol cars come into use. Police vehicles will stay white but new blue and red decals will be added. Many vehicles competed for attention on the road, said the Police Commissioner, Mr Mai Churches. The old design needed updating.
