Summertimes begins today
Summertimes, the three-month fiesta of fun-packed entertainment and recreation will begin today at 12.30 p.m. in Cathedral Square. The programme will be launched by the Wizard who will arrive at the
Square in a stretched limousine and will then recite a good-weather spell to ensure that Summertimes activities will be sun-kissed and rain-free. Entertainment will be provided by a top Christchurch cultural group and
a local dance group, The Little Shiny Things. Graham Wardrop will provide his own brand of music. Summertimes is coordinated by the parks and recreation department of the Christchurch City Council.
