Bowls semi-finals
Janet Blay will take on the renowned Denise Page and Win Brown will play Kath O’Connor in the semifinals of the Christchurch Women’s Bowling Centre’s championship triples at Spreydon this morning. The final will follow in the afternoon. The title holder, Altha Triggs, was knocked out of contention by a relative newcomer, Carol Griffiths, yesterday, but Griffiths was subsequently eliminated by Page in the quarter-finals. Another notable skip to fall by the wayside was Lex Kimber, who lost to O’Connor. Results: Third round: J. Towart (New Brighton) 23, M. Brady (Burnside) 7; J. Blay (Mt Pleasant) 28, N.
