IEL stake at 51pc
NZPA-AAP Sydney Sir Ron Brierley’s Industrial Equity has confirmed it has won a controlling stake in retail group, Woolworths. Chief executive, Mr Rod Price, said the company now had about 51 per cent of Woolworths under its Aust36sc a share offer which values the company at sAustB2BM (SNZI.I billion). lEI boosted its stake from the 42.53 per cent held before the offer, which was made after reaching an agreement with the National Companies and Securities Commission.
