PA Tauranga Wife and husband pair Ann and Harvey Wilson finished first and second respectively in the fifth round of the World Cup showjumping qualifying series at Tauranga today. Ann Wilson, the former English women’s champion, won yesterday’s race and moved into third equal position on the over-all points table. Harvey, the captain of the
New Zealand eventing team at the Seoul Olympics, retained first place over all with his second place yesterday.
The Wilsons, who farm at Waverley in Taranaki, were the only riders to have clear rounds but no “jump off” was required because Harvey incurred a minor time fault. Angela Illston (Pukekohe) retained second place over all with her sixth place yes-
terday while Graham Hart (Hastings) finished eighth yesterday and is now third equal with Anne Wilson. Results: Fifth qualifying round: Ann Wilson, Surprise 1. Harvey Wilson, Mayday 2.
