Ozone worry
Britain has urged rapid global action to find substitutes for widely-used chemicals which are damaging the Earth’s protective ozone layer and transforming the world clirriate. The Junior Environment Minister, Virginia Bottomley, addressing a one-day international conference on the ozone threat, said industrialised and developing countries had to find alternatives to chlorofluorocarbons. —London.
