Coaching seminar
New Zealand’s best-known international athletics coach, Arthur Lydiard, will conduct a coaching seminar in conjunction with the New Zealand secondary schools' track and field championships in Christchurch this weekend. Mr Lydiard, now 71, will give a talk entitled “What we need to succeed in the
19905,” in the function room at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Friday evening. He will also attend the championships at the park on Saturday and Sunday. . x Mr Lydiard achieved international acclaim in the late 1950 s and 1960 s as the coach of the Olympic medallists, Peter Snell, Murray Halberg, and Barry Magee.
