Victories shared at Denton Park cycling meet
Victories were shared in the open A grade events at the Saturday track cycling meet at Denton Park. A long afternoon session gave most riders a chance at their favourite events, with John Andrews, Darrell Kircher, Carlos Marryatt and Jason M. Smith all winning events.
Stuart Lowe made a good solo ride in the middle stages of the points race, during which he gained valuable points as a base for his win. The highlight of the afternoon session was scheduled to be the 30 minute senior madison, but, seven laps into the race a downpour forced its postponement to this evening.
Better weather in the evening allowed the 30min junior madison to be run. Brendon Hart and Chris Barnsley established their superiority after only lOmin. Some excellent changes between the two riders gave them half a lap on the others and they maintained the lead until the finish.
Craig Denny and Jason Tyack won the novice 15min madison with a good performancce which gave them a lap on all others in the field, except Sam Park and Craig Mclntyre, who were placed second. Results.—
