The Papanui High School Sixth Form mathematics team displays the Canterbury Mathematics Association Mathematics Challenge Trophy that it jointly won with Shirley Boys High School last week. The team’s members are from left: Deborah Rich, aged 17, Adam Foot, aged 16, Bevan Arps, aged 16, and Garth Robinson, aged 17. Twenty Christchurch secondary schools took part in the competition. For the last two years a Papanui High School team, containing some or the same members as the mathematics team, has won the Canterbury Mathematics Association computer programming competition.
