Cinema threatened
The police say they are not taking seriously threatening letters and telephone calls received by an Auckland cinema screening the controversial film, “The Last Temptation of Christ.” Letters which threaten the Mid City Cinema with “cemented toilets, sliced seats, windows
smashed and carpets splashed with oil paints” have been received by the management and various news media organisations.
A police spokesman said the abusive letters and telephone calls were not being treated seriously.
