Buy-back bill
A draft bill which allows companies to buy back their own shares will be released for public discussion by the Australian Ministerial Council, the joint federal and state body which sets securities law. Council chairman, Mr Chris Sumner, said the draft was based on a “perceived need” in the business community for buy-backs, ano a 1986 Companies and Securities Law Review Committee report.
