New P.M. today for Poland
NZPA-Reuter Warsaw Poland’s Communist leaders will choose a new Prime Minister today to tackle the country’s deepening crisis. Western diplomats said the Politburo member, Mieczyslaw Rakowski, was emerging as a leading candidate. The Communist Party’s Central Committee will meet in Warsaw to replace as Prime Minister Zbigniew Messner, who was ousted on September 19 after party leaders accused him of bungling party-drafted economic reforms.
