Milky river investigated
Christchurch Drainage Board inspectors are trying to trace the nature and - source of a milky substance in the Avon River near Avonhead Road.
The chief engineer of the Christchurch Drainage Board, Mr Peter Hunt, said several residents had telephoned the board over the week-end to inquire about the substance.
He said the inspectors were sure it was not paint or milk.
