Newstock firm
Four former Canterbury employees of a national stock and station firm have set up an independent livestock company based in Christchurch. A spokesman for the as yet unnamed company, Mr John Honeybone, said the new organisation hoped to start running late next month or early November. The four directors formerly worked for Wrightson and before that were employed by Dalgety Crown until that company’s merger, in 1986, with Wrightson N.M.A. • Mr Honeybone said the directors believed there was a good opportunity for a locally-owned livestock company to become established in North Canterbury. The company would handle all types of livestock The other directors are Michael Dryden and Les Clement, both stock agents, and lan Gazzard, the financial field officer.
