Bill misleading?
The chairman of the Maori Council, Sir Graham Latimer, is concerned people could get a wrong impression from reading the Maori Fisheries Bill. Sections in the bill which suggested a substantial measure of Maori agreement with its content were incorrect, said Sir Graham, yesterday. Maori negotiators had raised a number of fundamental concerns about the bill’s content before it was introduced to Parliament, he said.
