VICTORIA UNIVERSITY OF WELLINGTON HALF LECTURESHIP IN MONEY AND FINANCE APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably qualified women and men for appointment as half-time Lecturer in Money and Finance, to be taken up on February 1, 1989. The position is funded for an initial 5-year period, with the possibility of renewal, through the NZ Society of Actuaries. The appointee will be expected to play a supporting role in the development of a new graduate Diploma in Financial Mathematics, centred round material in the first part of the actuarial professional qualification. S/he will be expected to take responsibility for an introductory course in economics and accountancy, and to contribute to a course in the mathematics of finance. Preference will be given to applicants with established records of teaching and research in finance, but applicants with more general backgrounds in economics and accountancy with demonstrated Interest in the area of finance are encouraged to apply. This half-lectureship may be taken as a full-time position for half the year, with preference for the first half, or as a half-time position for the whole year, by negotiation. The salary scale for Lecturers is $NZ35,000-$42,500 per annum, where there is a bar; then $44,000, $45,000, $46,000 per annum.
