Some experience In the Prehistory of the Pacific region would be an advantage. The appointment is a fulltime one, from February 1, 1989. Pre-eminent responsibility is for teaching, the preparation of teaching material, administration and marking, but the appointee may, without obligation, undertake a personal research programme which the Head of Department considers consistent with their teaching responsibilities. Specific duties will Include — contributions to organising and teaching the courses at Stage I Introduction to World Prehistory, at Stage II Origins of Civilisation, and at Stage 111 Experimental and Ethnographic Archeology — Instructing advanced students gin laboratory and field methods. Assistance with relocation expenses will be given. Commencing salary will be determined In accordance with qualifications and experience within the following ranges: Tutor; $NZ26,800 per annum to $30,100 per annum.
