Canterbury endorses clearances
The former Manawatu representative and present Canterbury lock, Chris England (Shirley), Deane McKinnel (Belfast) and Peter Whiting (Marist) are among the latest batch of rugby. players to apply for clearances to play overseas.
The Canterbury Rugby Union has deemed the applications in order and has sent them to the New Zealand R.F.U. for final approval.
Although McKinnel’s latest rugby has been played in Australia, the Italian club for which he will be playing has requested a clearance from his home-based club in Canterbury.
