A boring city

Sir,—What a boring city Christchurch is! No life, no animation, dreary streets, shabby buildings. Even in the Square, apart from a tired-looking Wizard and a few fruit stalls, nothing seems to happen except a procession of sorry-looking "down-and-outs” and chip-eaters. Surely someone can think of something to brighten up the city?—Yours, etc. D. J. LESLIE. Dunedin, September 19, 1988.
