Phones disrupted
Telephone services to about 1200 Telecom customers in Greymouth have been disrupted by the flood. Mr Brian Finn, district manager of Telecom’s Christchurch district, which includes Greymouth, said it could take up to two weeks to get the telephone service back to most customers. It was not certain yesterday whether faults had occurred because of water getting into cables or premises faults, he said.
