10% claim rumoured
PA Wellington Award talks between the Waterside Workers’ Federation and waterfront employers had adjourned, said the employers’ advocate, Mr Ron Palmer. Negotiations on the award which began several months ago were still at a confidential stage and there was “still a lot going on.” Mr Palmer would not comment on suggestions that employers had made an offer of a 10 per cent rise in return for more flexible working conditions. No date has been settlor more talks.
