Windsor’s Pal outstanding
NZPA-AAP Newcastle The rapidly improving galloper, Windsor’s Pal, will be forced to travel to Melbourne to fulfil his obvious potential after an outstanding win in Tuesday’s SAustIOO,OOO N.B.N. Cameron Handicap (1400 m at Newcastle. South Coast trainer, Bede Murray, said that Windsor’s Pal had made such vast improvement
that he would have to sit down and closely study Te Sydney and Mel- ' wurne spring carnival programmes before deciding on the four-year-old’s immediate future. A former New Zealand galloper, Windsor’s Pal has been in Murray’s care for only a few months and according to the trainer was as “flat as a dodo” when he arrived at his Conjola
stables. “He has simply bloomed,” said Murray, > “I’ve never had a horse that has done so well.” Murray was hardly inspired when he first laid eyes on the Palatable entire and could see no point in nominating the horse for the $250,000 Epsom Handicap (1600 m at Randwick on October 1 but the trainer is rueing his decision.
