Indecency charges dismissed
A preliminary hearing of indecency charges against a man, aged 41, came to an unscheduled end in the District Court yesterday when the girl complainant could not complete her evidence. Charges against the defendant of indecently assaulting the girl when she was aged 10 and 11, and of inducing her to indecent acts on him, were dismissed by Judge Kean.
He made a final order suppressing the defendant’s name.
The charges related to various dates over a period of 19 months, between May 31, 1986 and December 31, last year. Mr R. E. Neave appeared for the police and Mr D. H. Stringer for the defendant.
