Man reoffends after sentencing
PA Dannevirke Within three hours of being sentenced, a Dannevirke man made a second appearance in Dannevirke District Court for stealing an -IHC collection box. Gerald Paul Gotty, aged 35, unemployed, of Runciman Place, admitted stealing the collection box from Dannevirke’s Junction Hotel af 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Senior-Sergeant John Lovatt said Gotty put the
collection box with $25 in notes and coins in it under his T-shirt and walked out of the hotel. When arrested Gotty had $2 left and a T.A.B. ticket. Earlier Gotty had appeared before Judge Hole for failing to report for periodic detention. Judge Hole sentenced Gotty to four months periodic detention. This was extended to five months when Gotty made his second appearance.
