Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr Javad Mansouri, said in Wellington yesterday that Iran had been subjected to a vast propaganda war and he urged the news media to see the country for themselves. Mr Mansouri is in New Zealand for two days and.will meet officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of External Relations and International Trade, Mr Moore, and the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Moyle. In an apparent reference to allegations of religious and ethnic persecution since Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was deposed in 1979, Mr Mansouri said the mass media had waged a vast propaganda war against Iran.—PA.
