Nicholson in lead
NZPA-AAP Ulverstone Only five seconds separate the first six riders at the end of the firsts day’s, racing in the Advance Australia tour of Tasmania. New Zealand’s Chris Nicholson, winner of the opening race, is the over-all leader. He and five other riders fought out the finish into Latrobe at the end of the 96 kilometre morning stage. Yesterday’s afternoon’s 90 kilometre stage between Latrobe and Ulverstone went to the New South Welshman John Clissold. In a fine solo win he crossed the line well ahead of the bunch. Over-all Nicholson leads Newcastle’s Chris Logan by two seconds and four riders by five seconds.
