Women’s art
Eight women are showing together at the Warehouse Gallery in Lichfield Street. They are Faye Hill, Margaret Ryley, Helen Sutherland, Tiffany Thornley, Colleen Anstey, Linda James, Gail Wright and Jules. Their backgrounds include painting, sculpture, photography, pottery, printmaking and performance. The eight are part of the Christchurch Artists’ Collective who have worked and exhibited together in various combinations during the last 10 years. The exhibition, which continues until September 30. was prompted by discussions among the artists on art, feminism and what it means to be a working woman artist.
