Ski-ing wiped out
Race officials will try again today to hold a super-G event at Mount Hutt after wind wiped out the first day of the Kiwi Lager national ski championships yesterday. , ■ The championships are not scheduled to end until Friday and with three events on the programme there is still a day in hand. An early start is planned this morning with the lifts due to open at 7.30, inspection of . the course between 8.15 and 9.15 and the first racer in the start gate at 9.30. Two training courses will be set up on Broadway with helmets compulsory for racers going through them. Depending on snow conditions a few gates might be changed on the super-G course after the 26 women have raced. Sixty-six racers are in the men’s field.
