Riverbank litter
Sir,—l live opposite the Avon River. Many joggers, rowing supporters, and strollers use the riverbank and many of them leave litter behind. Recently, the Christchurch City Council has improved the riverbank by putting a sealed path through. The pathway is an advantage to the district, but I feel the money could have been best spent on rubbish bins. If the land was, kept clean, then nature lovers could also enjoy the area. Let us save the Garden City from becoming a rubbish tip. — Yours, etc., BETH HORNIBLOW. September 7, 1988.
