Alternative medicine
Sir,—lt is very encouraging to read so many letters defending alternative medicine. The attempts by the Skeptics to discredit unorthodox methods is not surprising as, periodically, they surface with such statements. Why? They claim to be concerned regarding the number of doctors practising alternative medicine and subjecting their patients to “questionable” therapies. I suggest that the patient seeks out such a doctor because of their alternative skills, and believes his or her method will cure the ailment and not maim or drug the patient senseless. Skeptics are just that — sceptics — and no amount of proof will change them.—Yours, etc.,
