Three die when car, truck collide
PA Wellington Members of the public, including an off-duty policewoman, dragged four accident victims from a burning car involved in a collision with a house-truck in Wainuiomata Road on Saturday evening. Two youths in the car died on the spot and a young woman died yesterday in hospital. The two youths who died were Peter Mosen, aged 19, and Stephen Leckie, aged 19, both of Wainuiomata.
The young woman was Julie Anne Jefferies, aged 17, of Wainuiomata. Another passenger in the car, a young Christchurch woman, aged 17, was taken to Hutt Hospital with moderate injuries. She was discharged yesterday. The driver of the housetruck, Brent Kevin Rossitter, aged 19, is reported in satisfactory condition in Wellington Hospital with pelvic and head injuries.
