Mr Peter Thornley, the head chef of Wheelers restaurant, Auckland, and the winner of this year’s Lamb Cuisine Award Gold Plaque Competition, displays his prize, and the winning dish, in Christchurch yesterday. The plaque was presented to him by Dame Ann Hercus at a ceremony at the Pacific Park Hotel last evening. Mr Thornley competed against two other North Island contestants and one from the South Island, Mr Alistair Williams, of Christchurch.
