Murder charge laid
A Pahiatua man, aged 24, was arrested yesterday and charged with the murder of Nigel Raymond Taylor, aged 20, at Pahiatua in April. Detective Inspector Harry Hawthorn said the man would appear in the Palmerston North District Court this morning also charged with attempting to defeat the course of justice. The arrested man was known to the dead man, he said, The arrest follows the discovery of Mr Taylor’s decomposed body at a north Wairarapa farm last Wednesday. The police believe the body had been under trees on the farm since April 29.—PA.
